3 surprising points about business social media usage

WebProNews have some research from US legal firm Ethos Business Law which should be music to PR people's ears, particularly in regards to the 49 per cent of executives surveyed who worry about the impact of social media on reputation.

What did surprise me was some of the figures about what social media tools were being used by the companies surveyed:

 - 1 per cent of people admitted using SecondLife (why?)

 - Only 8 per cent used MySpace, this may be due to demographic reasons, but this was ten times less than Facebook, which was a real shocker for me

 - Finally, businesses are still not making the maximum use of out of photo-sharing sites like flickr, which are easier to produce good content for and provide a great deal of benefit from an SEO perspective.
